Virtual Assistants- Are They Employees?

Most of the people consider their virtual assistants as their employees but actually they are independent contractors which offer a range of services to their clients. Though at times, they compare themselves as a personal assistant or administrative assistant but they are actually not employees.

Have you ever noticed any virtual assistant submitting resume to their clients? You must have not! They just provide their certifications and portfolios and references from past clients. Just like a doctor or designer, they will explain you their services and experience when you approach them. You don’t ask for a resume from a doctor, do you?

So, are you clear now? They work independently and are being paid only for the hours services they provide. Some people also hire them on a project basis.

Unlike employees, virtual professionals can be full time, part time or for a few hours. These people have their own pricing structure which can be negotiated during the hiring process.
